Meet the Financial Planner Who Paid Off a $30,000 Debt in Less Than a Year
Founder and CEO of The Financial Effect, Armond Croom
Armond is married with children, but by no means does he think he’s mastered that—he knows he’s still in training.
One thing he has mastered is the art of your finances.
Armond has always been a number’s guy; he graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in finance.
He started his career in finance at First Command Financial Services, San Diego, CA in October 2004, following a four-year career in the United States Navy. There, he attained the rank of lieutenant and served as a supply corps officer on the USS Nimitz.
Although Armond’s experiences in the U.S. Navy, where he attended Nuclear Power School and managed a million-dollar operation on the USS Nimitz, taught him the valuable skills and strategies he employs every day as a financial advisor, he is way too funny for the military. So, this Arkansas native decided to try his hand at entrepreneurship. He wanted to help people achieve financial freedom, stability, and overall better health—mentally and physically.
Today, he holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses plus state life, health, and property-and-casualty insurance licenses. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
He has been a trusted financial advisor for over 15 years and is the founder and CEO of Croom Financial and The Financial Effect blog.
But, in the early years of his career as a financial advisor, something was amiss—he felt like a fraud. Why? Armond was $30,000 in debt and by his calculations, he was going to owe the IRS another $30,000 at the end of that year. YIKES!
Armond decided that he needed to take charge of his life and his finances. In less than a year, he was the first success story of The Financial Effect budgeting system.
Armond is committed to helping people live their best lives. He believes that by using money as a tool families can change their financial future, just like he did.
He aims to bring sound financial knowledge and trustworthy advice while building lasting relationships with each individual and family he serves.
Armond is all about fun, finances, family, and one last thing that helps him survive it all—wine.
