I am a man fathering daughters. I do not know what it is like to be a woman. I will never know what it is like emotionally, physically, nor mentally. I can try to understand. After all, I have a lot at stake here—I’m a girls-only dad. It is important to me that my daughters are better than their daddy in every way. Women are often told that they are not as good at STEM; therefore, I don’t want my wife putting that foolishness in their heads. I know that’s not her intention; however, that’s how I view it. I want to instill a high level of confidence in my girls—fight the power, ladies.
I know you’re raising a family and you want your kids to “keep their innocence.” Be honest with yourself though, do you love that thing? I hate everything he represents. He’s creepy and too much work. However, I must admit, whoever came up with it, is a freaking genius. If I was the inventor, I would be laughing all the way to the bank. I think I’m going to invent a miniature me for your finances—kind of like Elfie, but let’s call him Little Armani. I want you to put me on your mantel to remind you of all the crap you shouldn’t buy. Little Armani, the doll version of me, could actually choke Elfie.
He was going to be big, and that baseball card was going to be worth something. I had the 1990 Donruss brand card. I was going to be rich baby! I was going to send my kids to college on this one. Today, that card, which is probably in my momma’s basement, is worth a whopping $3.00.
I know it’s hard, but our kids’ status, nor the money they make should not be the end-all for us. We need to be careful that we don’t force our kids into situations, jobs, careers that make them unhappy. I know what you’re thinking. The more money our kids have, the happier they will be, but you know that’s not necessarily true, right?
Being in the military is like being in an entirely different world. If you haven’t served, it is tough to understand what it’s like to be in the military. To give an example, the only person who truly understands what it is like to be raised by your parents would be your brother or sister.
